How Can I Capture Electronic Leads

AutoPlay can capture leads from most electronic sources. Which method applies depends on the source of the lead and what it's able to provide.

  1. Via the AutoPlay Lead API: available to lead providers and third-party systems to push leads directly into AutoPlay, whether from a website or a CRM/marketing automation provider. The Lead API manual is available on request from support@autoplay.co.nz (charges may apply).
  2. Via an external lead API: if a lead provider or third party can't integrate with AutoPlay's Lead API but has its own API, AutoPlay may be able to integrate with it instead. This is scoped case by case and charges may apply.
  3. Via the AutoPlay Data API: if the lead source is a vehicle stock page fed by AutoPlay's tokenised Listing API, that API has a built-in handler to capture and log leads. Contact support@autoplay.co.nz for assistance (charges may apply).
  4. Via email capture: if API capture isn't possible, the fallback is to capture a copy of enquiry emails sent to the dealership. AutoPlay sets up a "dealername@autoplay.co.nz" address and builds a mapping routine that converts the email text into the right Sales Pipeline fields. This is the easiest method to set up, but the least robust: if the lead provider changes its email format without telling AutoPlay, lead capture can break.

Leads captured electronically are automatically assigned to whoever is set as the Lead Manager under Settings > Sales Pipeline Settings > Lead Management. Find out more about managing email lead recipients here.

Electronic leads are automatically mapped to Lead Type = Email, with a Lead Source always applied, so a salesperson doesn't need to enter this data manually.

AutoPlay already has a number of lead providers set up across Australia and New Zealand. If a provider is already established (for example Trade Me or Car Sales), turning it on for your account is straightforward using existing methods and rules. If the provider is new to AutoPlay, there's a short discovery period to determine the best capture method and mapping routine, and setup costs may apply.
